How to request deletion
- Sign in to your Booka account and open Delete Account.
- Enter your password and confirm the deletion request.
- If you cannot sign in, email accounts@booka.co.za with the subject "Data Deletion Request" and include the account email or phone number used on Booka.
You can also request deletion of specific data categories without deleting your full account by emailing us and listing the data you want removed.
Data we delete
- Profile details and account identifiers.
- Uploaded profile media, including photos and videos.
- Chat content and attachments, including voice notes and media files.
- Booking request content and related account preferences.
Data we may retain
- Transaction, payout, and invoice records required for tax and accounting obligations.
- Records required for fraud prevention, chargebacks, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
Additional retention period for the categories above: up to 7 years where required by law or legal process. Backup systems may retain data for up to 30 days before deletion cycles complete.
Processing timeline
We aim to process verified deletion requests within 30 days, subject to legal, fraud, and payment-compliance obligations.
